Purampokku Movie Review

S P Jananathan’s Purampokku starring Arya, Vijay Sethupathy and Shaam, Karthika Nair is an engaging and entertaining film.

Jananathan made films like Ee, Peranmai and Iyarkkai before. This film is strikingly different and has enough elements that keep one glued to their seat.

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, the movie has camera by Ekambaram, editing by B T Vijayan and music by Varshan.

Balusamy (Arya), is an adorable man. He is a revolutionary but thinks good for common man. He ends up in a prison. A police officer named Macaualay (Shaam), firm on the law and rules and Yemalingam, a hangman (Vijay Sethupathy) comes across his life. What happens between them is the crux.

Arya is good and provides right entertainment. Equally good are Shaaam and Arya. Karthika has enough scope to give her best.

Varshan songs are good and so is cinematography Ekambaram.

Purampokku is food for thought.

Verdict: Jana’s special
