Oru Oorula Rendu Raja Movie Review

It is a one-woman crusade against corporate firms that pay scant regard for safety measures.

Kannan of Jayamkondan fame has taken a serious issue but laced it with commercial elements to the brim which have eventually watered down the content.
Produced by Michael Rayappan and Kannan himself, the movie stars Vemal, Priya Anand and Soori in pivotal roles. Nasser, Thambi Ramiah, Singampuli and Anupama are also in the cast.

A factory that produces steel in Tuticorin has very little safety measures for thousands of employees. A doctor by profession, Priya (Priya Anand) finds out that the unhealthy atmosphere in the factory is the reason for the outbreak of diseases in the entire area. She collects evidence and takes up the issue with the management. They ridicule her and her life is under threat. She comes across two jobless youth Azhagu (Vemal) and Mike (Soori) who ensure her safety and involve themselves in the crusade against the company.

Vemal plays an innocent youth well, while Soori appears all through the movie trying to tickle our funny bone in every scene. Priya Anand is not just a glam doll but has a meaty role to play. Vishaka Singh makes a cameo. A couple of songs by D Imman are catchy cinematography by Muthiah add some strength to the proceedings..

The movie chronicles the journey of the trio to Chennai from Tuticorin. But pit stops in the form of songs and flashbacks mar the flow.

A serious issue of safety negligence in factories gets its due reference only towards the climax.

Verdict: Kings & wings
