Maan Karate – Movie Review

With Sivakarthikeyan, Soori and Hansika in the cast and Anirudh scoring music, director Thirukumaran starts a winner in Maan Karate.

If the purpose of the filmmaker is to entertain masses and make them laugh, then Maan Karate achieves it very well.
From the word go, it is laughathon. Sivakarthikeyan with his body language and mannerisms walks away with applause. Hansika as Yazhini appears as a bubblky young urban girl.

Soori and Satish adds to the comic proceedings while Vidyut Jamwal impresses all.

Peter (Sivakarthikeyan) a native of Royapuram and he wishes to win the heart of his girlfriend Yazhini (Hansika).
Sequence of events forces him to prepare for a karate match to win huge money. But that lands him in trouble.

He is forced to fight a champion. As Peter has to fight it out in a boxing tournament, Yazhini comes to his support. Does he manage to win in the match is what Maan Karate is about.

Thirukumaran gets three cheers. If the first half is good, second half is cliched.

Anirudh’s BGM and Sukumar’s camera are great.

Sivakarthikeyan’s screen presence makes amends in the average second half.

Verdict : Battle on the cards
